My First Tomato
It's been on the vine for most of the summer and was the very first tomato to grow. I now have MANY green tomatoes to take this tomato's place, but this one was removed this morning and will be sitting in the window sill until it gets a little pinker. It's a German Johnson heirloom tomato, so it looks a little different. :)

We ate this on 8/1/2010. It had a great flavor and great texture. Not bad for the season's first!
ReplyDeleteIt actually looks really good - I'm glad to hear it tasted good too. My regular sized tomatoes aren't doing so good now. The plant seems to be "tired" or maybe sick. But Meg has an abundance of cherry size and I'm taking care of their garden while they're in TX. :)
